Lleida City Council, recognized by the AOC as a leading administration in digital transformation and open government

03/05/2022

It ranks second in the category of municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants.

Lleida City Council has been recognized for the second year in a row by the Open Administration of Catalonia for its work in the field of digital transformation. The Paeria has obtained the second place in the category of municipalities of more than 50,000 inhabitants.

These awards highlight the advances made by local authorities (town councils and county councils) in digital transformation and open government in their relationship with citizens and internal management.

The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Presidency, Jordina Freixanet, has given a very positive assessment to the awarding of this prize because “it reaffirms us in the work we are carrying out, taking decisive steps to bring the administration closer to all citizens using technology but without forgetting aspects such as usability, efficiency and universality. Digitization must be a tool for improvement at the service of the citizens, without gaps ”.

In order to assess the degree of maturity of digital transformation of local authorities, the AOC analyzes the main indicators of digital and open governments based on objective data.

In 2021, Lleida City Council won second place and in 2020, in which 2019 indicators were evaluated, the eighth.

The awards were presented in Llinars del Vallés. The coordinator of the Organization and Digital Policies of Lleida City Council, Laura Sunyol, has received the award.
