The ICT sector in Lleida

Within Spain, Lleida is one of the cities with the highest percentages of its population employed in the ICT sector.

Lleida has a long track record and considerable experience in the field of information technology entrepreneurship. It has a wide range of businesses operating in the ICT sector that not only provide services to Lleida and the surrounding area, but also have a high market share of the wider Spanish and international markets.

Lleida’s ITC companies are active in the agri-food sector, particularly with the traceability of products, and also provide services for the distribution, catering and retail sectors and for local government institutions. Products designed and developed in Lleida city and Lleida province can be found in markets throughout Spain and around the world.

Lleida’s Parc Científic i Tecnológic Agroalimentari (Food Science and Technology Park) hosts companies such as INDRA, the IFP-Microsoft Dynamics' software factory, the ITC incubator and many other companies in the technology sector.

The majority of the ICT companies in Lleida are represented by the trade association Associació d'Empreses de Tecnologies i Serveis de la Informació de Lleida (The Association of Information Technology and Service Companies of Lleida).
