Definition The Code-in is a global competition promoted by Google to introduce pre-university students, between 13 and 17 years old, in the development of free software. The contest opens the door to young people from Lleida and around the world to participate in the projects of the Scientific and Technological Park of Lleida (PCiTAL), although obtaining a personal recognition by Google. The Code-in is often the first experience of many students of these ages with free software. For this reason, it is designed to facilitate the initiation through a set of tasks, provided by organizations such as the Liquid Galaxy LAB of the Science Park. The pre-university students select the tasks and work with the help of a mentor for several weeks. Each task lasts 3 to 5 hours and students have 3 days to complete it and then, if they wish, continue with a new one. The tasks are of 5 different types and not only of programming, which extends to all the students the possibility of presenting themselves. As it is a global program, all questions, answers and communications are made in English.
